Bridge Reconstruction in Zákupy – Public Transportation Measures

Description of the Change

Dear Passengers,

The Liberec Region is continuing with the reconstruction of its roads and bridges. From March 30 through August 9, repairs will be carried out on the bridge over the Svitávka River in Zákupy near the Vendys gas station (toward Mimoň) and on the small bridge near Zákupy Castle on Borská Street toward Nový Bor.

These closures will significantly affect all traffic; measures for public transit (IDOL buses and trains) are described below. Replacement train service has been implemented on the Česká Lípa–Mimoň route (more information on replacement service here)

Starting April 20, there will be individual adjustments to the temporary schedules for lines 260, 261, 269, and 273.

Affected routes:

260 Česká Lípa – Mimoň – Stráž pod Ralskem – Hamr na Jezeře (temporary schedule valid through April 19 is available here), (temporary schedule effective April 20 is available here)

261 Mimoň – Brniště – Stráž pod Ralskem – Jablonné v Podještědí (temporary schedule valid through April 19 is available here), (temporary schedule valid from April 20 is available here)

On the routes listed above, passengers should expect changes in service routing, detours, or schedule changes.

Main Line 260 Hamr na Jezeře – Stráž pod Ralskem – Mimoň – Zákupy – Česká Lípa (and back)

For most of the day, it is divided into two sections:

• Hamr na Jezeře/Stráž pod Ralskem – Mimoň, with an extension to the train station (to the Mimoň, žel.st. stop)
• Česká Lípa – Zákupy, Božíkov train stop.

Selected services are rerouted via Noviny pod Ralskem, Velký Grunov, Kamenice, and Božíkov, i.e., a route that is approximately 20 minutes longer. This primarily affects shift-related services (6, 14, 22) to/from Česká Lípa and 3 pairs of school-related services.

The limited bus service on the Mimoň–Zákupy–Česká Lípa route is being replaced by increased train service.

On the Mimoň–Česká Lípa section, substitute train service has been introduced; in addition to regular local and express trains, 24 substitute train services have been added.

For all of these additional trains, as well as for most standard trains, the routes from Hamr or Stráž (and vice versa in the return direction) have been extended (or their schedules adjusted). Thus, despite the closure of the bridges in Zákupy, service to Česká Lípa is not significantly affected by delays. In addition, selected replacement train services run all the way to the Česká Lípa střelnice stop or begin there in the afternoon. In Mimoň, buses stop directly in front of the entrance to the train platform.

Weekend service on Line 260 is provided by buses following detour routes via Noviny, Velký Grunov, Kamenice, and Božíkov. Weekend services on the Hamr – Stráž p.R. – Mimoň – Zákupy section will run earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon in the return direction. Connections to trains at Českolipské Main Station remain unchanged.

Please note that the Saturday evening bus 260/115 from Česká Lípa at 8:30 p.m. will be served by an alternative route from March 30 through April 18 (on Good Friday, April 3, and on Saturdays, April 4 April 11, and April 18) will be operated via an alternative route. It departs 5 minutes earlier from Česká Lípa (8:25 p.m.), takes a detour via Kamenice and Velký Grunov to Noviny, and from there continues directly to Stráž pod Ralskem, without stopping at Mimoň. Service from Česká Lípa to Mimoň is provided by the express train at 8:22 p.m. from Česká Lípa Main Station. Service from Mimoň to Noviny and Stráž pod Ralskem is provided by a special service at 8:00 p.m. from Mimoň Busstation via Mimoň, Malá at 8:02 p.m. and Žitavská at 8:06 p.m., arriving in Stráž pod Ralskem at 8:17 p.m.

Starting April 25, Service 115 will also run on its regular schedule like other weekend services, i.e., departing at 8:30 p.m. from Česká Lípa and arriving at 9:31 p.m. in Stráž pod Ralskem. In addition, starting April 25, an extra service has been introduced at 7:35 p.m. from Česká Lípa to Stráž via Zákupy and Mimoň; in Česká Lípa, it connects with trains from all directions.

For Line 260 services taking the detour via Noviny, Velký Grunov, and Kamenice, the following substitute stops have been established:

• Noviny pod Ralskem, onthe main road leading to Velký Grunov, immediately past the intersection—this applies to services traveling to and from Česká Lípa—so that passengers from Noviny do not have to travel via Mimoň
• Velký Grunov, near Mitop on the road to Noviny pod Ralskem past the intersection, so that residents of Velký Grunov can also use these services, as the usual transfers in Mimoň would extend the journey
• Zákupy, Božíkov train stop on Mimoňská Street, moved approximately 150 meters from the standard stop

Route 261 from Jablonné to Mimoň, and from Brniště to Stráž (and back)

Selected services in Mimoň have been extended to/from the train station to connect with trains; in some cases, their schedules have been slightly adjusted (the earlier departure applies to the morning service 261/4 from Jablonné at 5:40 a.m. to Mimoň, which will now depart at 5:34 a.m., i.e., 6 minutes earlier, and in Mimoň connects with the 6:17 a.m. train to Česká Lípa; or service 5 at 6:10 a.m. from Mimoň—which is 10 minutes earlier, now departing at 5:55 a.m. from the train station, 6:00 a.m. from the bus station)

Afternoon services between Brniště – Luhov – Stráž pod Ralskem and back have been rescheduled to improve connections to/from Line 262 to/from Česká Lípa.

Route 262 from Česká Lípa to Brniště (and back) is affected by the closure of the bridge on Borská Street in Zákupy;

after serving the stop at the town square, it continues via the relocated Zákupy, Božíkov train station stop and along the detour to the Kamenická stop; the detour slightly delays the service.

Morning Service 1 from Česká Lípa at 6:10 a.m. is routed to Zákupy via Route 260 starting from Česká Lípa,Litoměřické at 6:05 a.m., from Jezu at 6:15 a.m. (skipping the bus station stop), and from Zákupy it continues as usual on Line 262 to Brniště.

An additional service has been introduced for schoolchildren from Velenice and Nové Zákupy to the school in Zákupy and to Česká Lípa; it will depart from Velenice at 7:00 a.m.

Route 269 provides service to Bohatice

on the route between Mimon, Bohatice, and the temporary Zákupy stop , located beyond the bridge, from which passengers can transfer on foot to lines serving the Zákupy, žel.Božíkov stop, or to the train from the Zákupy-Božíkov stop; the walk is approximately 350 meters to the bus and approximately 400 meters to the train. The route operates from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is served by a small-capacity bus (25 seats). It primarily serves trips to and from Bohatice. The Zákupy, za mostem stop is located in the parking lot across from the Vendys gas station; walk along the service road toward the swimming pool, then turn left onto the footbridge over the Svitávka River and continue along Potoční Street to the stop. Starting April 20, select routes have been extended to/from the Mimoň, Žitavská stop.

Standard service to Brenná remains virtually unchanged.

Line 267 from Mimoň to Ralsko and Bělá pod Bezdězem, and Line 427 from Mimoň to Ralsko, Mnichovo Hradiště, and Mladá Boleslav

are affected by the absence of connections with Line 260 to/from Česká Lípa; therefore, they have been slightly adjusted so that the services connect with trains to/from Česká Lípa at the Mimoni train station.

Route 273 from Heřmanice via Jablonné and Rynoltice to Stráž

is affected by connection No. 3, which runs from Jablonné to Stráž starting April 20, departing 10 minutes earlier to ensure a connection toward Mimoň

Line 439 from Mimoň via Brniště to Zákupy

is affected by the closure of the bridge near the castle in Zákupy; it is taking a detour via the bypass, so buses are arriving later at the town square or arriving earlier.

Route 459 from Nový Bor and Česká Lípa to Nové Zákupy and Brniště

is affected by a closure near the castle in Zákupy; after serving the town square, it travels via the relocated Božíkov train station stop and along the bypass to Nové Zákupy—as a result, times differ slightly from normal service.

Route 474 from Nový Bor via Sloup and Svojkov to Zákupy

has been extended via the relocated Božíkov railway stop and is also affected by the closure near the castle in Zákupy.

Line L2 Děčín–Liberec has 12 additional pairs of NVD commuter trains added on the Česká Lípa–Mimoň section.

Together with the Ústí n. L. – Liberec (most of which, except for two morning and one evening train, do not stop at Zákupy-Božíkov) and the Děčín – Liberec local trains, it offers fast connections to and from Česká Lípa 32 times a day. In the morning and afternoon, trains run roughly every half hour. More information here. Most trains are connected at the Mimoň station by bus line 260 toward Stráž pod Ralskem, and on select connections, also toward Ralsko.
