Fares for Children Ages 6–18

Children aged 6 to 18 (until the day before their 18th birthday) are entitled to a discounted fare of 50% of the full fare —regardless of the purpose of the trip.
How do children prove their age during a ticket inspection?
Children under 15
No identification is required at check-in.
Children aged 15–18
When purchasing a single-ride ticket, they must prove their age with one of the following documents (the document does not need to be valid for this category):
- ID card
- Passport
- Student ID
- ISIC card
IDOL season pass holders
If a child has a valid IDOL pass, it is automatically accepted as proof of age at check-in. This applies only to IDOL routes. However, it is advisable to carry the document with you in case of an inspection.
What if a child turns 18 while the pass is still valid?
If a child turns 18 while the pass is valid and continues their studies, they must:
- Obtain a student ID card or ISIC
- Purchase a new pass using their student profile
Student Fares for Ages 18–26

Students aged 18 to 26 (until the day before their 26th birthday) are eligible for a 50% discount on the full fare while continuing their studies at an accredited educational institution.
When does the student fare apply?
- Regardless of the purpose of the trip —including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Eligibility ends upon reaching age 26 (the day before your 26th birthday) or when the student ID expires
How do I prove eligibility for the student fare?
1. ISIC card
International Student Identity Card—for more information, visit the ISIC website.
2. Student (or pupil) ID
A card issued by a transit provider or coordinator to claim eligibility for discounted fares. Student cards are mutually recognized among transit providers.
How do I get a student ID card?
Where to apply for the card:
- At the transit provider’s service center
- At an Opuscard service location
What you’ll need:
- A studentID card certified by your school ( with a stamp and the signature of an authorized person)
- A recent photo (showing your current appearance)
What the ID card must include:
- The student’s first and last name
- Date of birth
- A current photograph of the holder
- Name and address of the school
- Information confirmed by the school regarding the duration of the school or academic year (stamp + signature of an authorized person)—usually indicated by September 30 of the following school year
- Stamp of the transit provider or Opuscard contact point and signature of an authorized employee
What types of tickets can you purchase at a discount?
Child and student fares apply to all types of single-day and multi-day tickets throughout the IDOL* network, with the following exceptions:
- Group tickets
- EURO-NISA-Ticket+ international tickets
