Rides on Nostalgic Trains
SchedulesAlthough the summer and main fall seasons for nostalgic rides on historic trains have come to an end, traditional winter events and the operation of historic vehicles continue in the region.

- February Rides:

This line is the only standard-gauge rack railway in the Czech Republic, and following the completion of its renovation, it is once again fully operational.
Technical Description and Highlights
- Rack-and-pinion drive: The rack railway is the steepest in the Czech Republic. On the Tanvald–Kořenov section, it overcomes an extreme elevation difference over a short distance—the gradient is so steep that trains must use a toothed rack to climb safely.
- The Return of the “Rakušanky”: Following the completion of the renovation, the legendary T 426.0 “Rakušanky” rack-and-pinion locomotives have returned to the line; they are typically used for special Advent and post-Christmas rides.
- Kořenov: The Kořenov station is a key point on the rack railway. Visitors will find the Rack Railway Museum and historic railcars here. Kořenov is an ideal starting point for hiking and biking trails.

- Trains pulled by a steam locomotive will run on the local line from Martinice v Krkonoších to Rokytnice nad Jizerou. This event takes place during Advent.
