Description of the Change

On June 8, 2026, the Railway Administration published draft train schedules for the period from December 13, 2026, to December 11, 2027. From the published list, we are providing a preview of the schedules relevant to rail service in the Liberec Region.

No major conceptual changes to train schedules are planned for the Liberec Region this year. On the Jizerské Mountains Railway in the Frýdlant and Tanvald areas, there will be minor adjustments to off-peak times or on terminal sections, and there will also be a partial renewal of the rolling stock.

  • The deployment of nine additional refurbished RegioSpider (STADLER RS-1) cars on the Jizerské Mountains Railway will limit the operation of RegioNova (814) cars, which will serve as backup.
  • A new weekend supplementary service on Line L1 from Liberec (departure at 9:05) to Harrachov and back to Tanvald (arrival at 11:51) will also offer connections in Tanvald to Prague express trains on Line R21, as well as connections in Kořenov toward Jizerka via bus line 942, which also connects to trains on Line L9 in Jablonec nad Jizerou.
  • On Line 036 (Line L1 Liberec – Tanvald – Harrachov – Szklarska Poręba), following an agreement between the Liberec Region and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the number of services or the number of operating days per year will once again be slightly increased on the cross-border section.
  • On Line L31 (Tanvald – Železný Brod), Czech Railways’ RegioSpider 840-series trains will also be newly deployed, replacing ARRIVA’s services on this line. This will allow for a gradual increase in direct connections via Tanvald Station toward Plavy and Železný Brod. For example, the busiest service on the L31 line from Železný Brod to Tanvald, departing at 8:59 a.m., will offer a direct train all the way to Szklarska Porębaba Górna on weekends during both the summer and winter seasons.

On the Liberec–Žitava line, the trial operation period will be extended; during this period, among other things, the time trains spend waiting for delayed connecting services will be limited. The reason is the currently lower reliability of service caused by several unrelated and unplanned technical issues on the foreign sections of the line (repeated cable thefts, instability of the subsoil), which unfortunately have a negative impact on the punctuality of RE2 and L7 services even on the Czech side. Despite intensive cross-border negotiations, no specific dates for rectifying these issues have yet been confirmed that would allow the trial operation of the line following reconstruction to be concluded earlier.

The proposed timetable does not yet reflect the following changes, which are also planned:

  • On Line 037, contrary to the proposal, L61 Line No. 6352 (Frýdlant v Čechách, dep. 5:28 – Jindřichovice pod Smrkem, arr. 6:08 (on the Nové Město pod Smrkem–Jindřichovice pod Smrkem section, it will be replaced by a bus).
  • On Line 037, contrary to the proposal, L61 bus No. 6355 will not operate on the section Jindřichovice pod Smrkem, depar. 6:12 – Frýdlant, arriving at 6:51 (this section will be replaced by a bus).
  • On Route 038, contrary to the proposal, the L62 line, No. 16301, Frýdlant v Čechách (departure 4:16 a.m.) – Bílý Potok (arrival 4:35 a.m.) will operate only on weekdays, not on weekends or holidays.
  • On Line 038, contrary to the proposal, Line L62, No. 16300, will operate as follows: Bílý Potok, departs 4:40 – Raspenava, arriving at 4:53, will operate only on weekdays, not on weekends or holidays (on the Hejnice–Raspenava section, it will be replaced by a bus; service to Bílý Potok p. S. is under review).

On route 086, special L24 service runs to the “Údolská pouť” festival in Kryštofovo Údolí, taking place on July 24 and 25, 2027, will be added as follows (these are not currently shown in the draft):

  • Křižany 2:04 p.m. – Liberec 2:25 p.m. / Liberec 3:38 p.m. – Křižany 3:58 p.m. (running on both Saturday and Sunday).
  • Křižany 4:04 p.m. – Liberec 4:25 p.m. / Liberec 5:38 p.m. – Křižany 5:58 p.m., Liberec 7:38 p.m. – Křižany 19:58 / Křižany 20:04 – Liberec 20:25 (run only on Saturday).
