What's new in the schedule starting March 1?
25. 2. 2026
Starting Sunday, March 1, revised schedules will take effect on certain bus routes, not only in the Liberec Region. What exactly will these changes entail?
“The March schedule adjustment usually involves only a few changes. We strive to respond to passenger feedback on an ongoing basis and, where possible, incorporate these changes sooner so that people don’t have to wait until December again,” explains Daniel David, deputy governor in charge of the transportation department.
The most significant change for passengers is increased service on Line 900 between Jablonec nad Nisou and Prague on peak days of the week. On Fridays, new departures from Prague to Jablonec nad Nisou will be introduced at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.; and on Sundays, passengers traveling from Jablonec nad Nisou to Prague will have new options at 2:50 p.m. (this bus will depart from Rokytnice nad Jizerou at 1:15 p.m.) and 6:50 p.m. “We regularly evaluate passenger occupancy rates and have observed an upward trend. We are already operating additional buses on an ad hoc basis; starting in March, we will adjust the schedule and add new services. At the same time, we are coordinating this increase in service with the carrier VKJ Autobusy, which plans to resume service on this route in March,” explains Otto Pospíšil, managing director of KORID LK.
Another change involves adjustments to Route 405 to strengthen and improve connections for students commuting from the Jilemnice area to Nová Paka. In connection with this measure, there will be minor adjustments to the schedules for routes 960, 963, and 965 between Jilemnice and Vrchlabí during the morning hours.
The March changes also include preparations for adjustments that will actually take effect during the spring months:
- In the Železný Brod area, the current Route 854 will be partially transferred to the TvůjBus on-demand transportation system. This will create new connection options for the local districts of Železný Brod and Koberov, while also eliminating inefficient empty-bus trips. Implementation is scheduled for the period after Easter, i.e., starting April 7. “However, starting in March, afternoon service from Malá Skála to Koberov will be enhanced for children who have afternoon classes or extracurricular activities. Starting in April, as part of the TvůjBus program, public transportation will be available for the first time in places like Chloudov and Chlístov, as well as for trips closer to destinations within Železný Brod,” reveals Denis Zelený, chief transportation technologist at KORID LK. Final preparations for the system are currently underway in collaboration with CITYA, and KORID LK will release more detailed information about this new feature in early March.
- Changes are also being prepared for the summer tourist season. A completely new feature is the introduction of service between Harrachov, Kořenov, and Jizerka. On weekends from April 25 to September 28, four round-trip services will operate, and on weekdays during the summer vacation, three round-trip services will run. All services will run on Line 942 to and from Jablonec nad Jizerou, with connections to and from Rokytnice nad Jizerou and trains on Line L9 to and from Jilemnice and Martinice in the Krkonoše Mountains. Visitors to the western part of the Krkonoše Mountains now have entirely new opportunities to explore the eastern part of the Jizera Mountains without having to use a car. The schedule for Line 795 to Jizerka will also be adjusted, and connections from Tanvald—and by extension, the Jablonec and Liberec regions—will be improved.
