We are improving connections between Prague and the Českolipsko region and the Šluknov Hook

20. 11. 2024

Cooperation among three regions—Central Bohemia, Liberec, and Ústí nad Labem—will bring passengers improved service on Line 400 between Prague, Česká Lípa, and Varnsdorf starting in December.

The new schedule for Line 400, which will take effect on December 1, 2024, will offer:

  • more connections between the Česká Lípa region and Prague throughout the week
    - 1 additional round trip on weekdays and Saturdays,
    - 2 pairs on Sundays,
  • but the number of extended services to Varnsdorf will increase even more significantly - 6 additional pairs on weekdays,
    - 1 round trip on weekends,
  • adjustments to departure times will ensure greater reliability in adhering to the schedule.

Increased capacity and overall service quality will also be ensured by new high-capacity 15-meter Scania Irizar buses, which offer an ideal compromise for a combination of regional and interregional transport.

These air-conditioned buses, with a capacity of 59 seated and 36 standing passengers and equipped with a wheelchair lift, will form the backbone of Line 400’s operations with a fleet of 11 vehicles. On this route, which runs every 60–30 minutes on weekdays, older vehicles from 2021 will also supplement the service for the time being.

In connection with the increased service on Route 400 to Prague, the schedule for Route 410 from Doksy—which runs parallel to Route 400 on the Dubá–Prague section—will also be adjusted; on weekdays, service will be increased from 3 pairs to 5 pairs of trips.

As part of a collaboration between the Central Bohemian Region and the Liberec Region, the interregional Line 400 is integrated into the PID and IDOL fare systems, with a shared overlapping section between Mělník and Dubá. On the Lesné–Rumburk section in the Ústí nad Labem Region, the IDOL fare system applies, but pre-purchased, visually verifiable tickets—such as paper tickets or the DÚKapka app—are also accepted.
