1. One of Trilex’s trip recommendations:
FROM THE ŠLUKNOV PROTRUSION TO GERMAN VIEWS AND ZADNÍ DOUBICE
From the center of Mikulášovice (parking lot, store, information center, Hotel RON), continue climbing the road through Upper Mikulášovice, past an avenue with views, around the three-sided chapel, and into the mountain forest below Plešný. Then the road descends steeply to Brtníky. Right at the edge of the village, turn right onto a small road (cycle route 3032) through the hamlet of Kopec, through the beautiful valley of the Brtnický Stream to the Brtnický Bridge intersection in the Kyjov Valley, along the Křinice for 1 km to the former Zadní Doubice, across the border, then very steeply uphill along a small road to Hinterhermsdorf, a picturesque village with half-timbered houses in Saxon Switzerland.
Information center at the Haus des Gastes. Up a small road with no car traffic through meadows into the forest, past the Kräuterbaude guesthouse, a steep descent into a wooded valley, continuing to the next resort village of Saupsdorf and along the road toward Sebnitz, a steep descent and climb toward the forest via Tanečnice to the Waldhaus restaurant.
Turn right off the road onto the path toward Tomášov. We return to Czech territory; there’s a gentle climb, and on the right is the Tomášov forest restaurant with cabins; then there’s an option to turn left through the forest (uphill) toward the Tanečnice lookout tower. Upon returning, we ride quickly down the small road through open countryside back to Mikulášovice.
