Take a trip on the No. 79 bus to Ještěd, even in the fall

Service on regional bus route 79 to Ještěd continues even after the season ends. The lower section of the route begins at the terminus of public transit tram line 3. Unlike the cable car, it is therefore directly connected to the high-capacity IDOL integrated transit network. The upper terminus, on the other hand, is located at an elevation of nearly 930 meters above sea level at the Ještědka parking lot, which is approximately 70 meters lower than the original upper station of the cable car.
The upper terminus of Line 79 at Ještědka is a convenient starting point for several hiking routes.
Line 79 will operate daily from September 30 to October 31, 2024, starting at 9:25 a.m. at one-hour intervals.

Route 79 is part of the Liberec Region’s integrated public transportation system.
- All fare options under IDOL rules apply here, including discount categories and cashless payment benefits.
- To travel to the Ještěd zone, you can purchase a transfer ticket on any IDOL network bus or train, via the Idolka app, or at self-service ticket machines on Liberec public transit vehicles.
- Not only are IDOL network passes valid here, but also international EURO-NISA-Ticket+ passes.
- However, the line is not wheelchair-accessible and is not designed to transport bicycles or wheelchairs.
Example of a single-ride fare according to the IDOL fare schedule effective January 1, 2024:
Z – Liberec (any stop in the Liberec 0001 zone)
To - Světlá pod Ještědem, Ještědka ( Ještěd Zone 0012)
Standard fare (18+ ) 60 CZK in cash / 48 CZK by card;
Reduced fare (children 6–18, students under 26, seniors 65+, third-degree disabled persons) half fare;
ZTP, ZTP/P: one-quarter fare.
The ticket is valid for 150 minutes for the example route; it allows for transfers and, if you make it in time, a return trip as well.
