Skis and winter gear at IDOL: What's the deal with them?
3. 2. 2026
Here are a few important rules to help ensure a smooth trip—for both passengers and drivers.
Skis in a case are not required.
Under the IDOL program, passengers may transport one pair of skis with poles or a snowboard free of charge. A case is not required. However, it is important that the skis are clean and free of snow to prevent soiling the vehicle or other passengers. Before boarding the vehicle, pay special attention to your footwear:
- Cross-country ski boots – permitted
- Downhill ski boots – not permitted (with the exception of ski buses where a note in the timetable allows it)
Safety and consideration come first. Passengers must keep their skis under control at all times and behave in such a way that:
- endanger others,
- do not block the aisles in the vehicle,
- do not soil the interior.
These rules are based on the IDOL Contractual Conditions of Carriage, which can be found on this website here.
Thank you for traveling considerately—together, we can make it better.
