Proposed Train Schedules for the 2025/26 Period

9. 6. 2025

On June 9, 2025, the Railway Administration published draft train schedules for the period from December 14, 2025, to December 12, 2026. From the published list, we are providing a preview of the schedules relevant to rail service in the Liberec Region.

The most significant change will be on Line 089 (L7 Liberec–Hrádek nad Nisou–Zittau–Varnsdorf–Seifhennersdorf and RE2 Liberec–Dresden), where an entirely new timetable will be introduced.

The journey between Liberec and Varnsdorf will be approximately ten minutes faster (a 15% reduction in travel time). Passengers will be able to transfer between trains not only in Liberec but also, for the first time, every full hour in Zittau. This will significantly expand travel options. There will thus be hourly train connections from Liberec to Dresden, Görlitz, and Berlin, respectively, with travel times approaching those of driving. On weekdays, direct service between Varnsdorf and Liberec is prioritized for students and commuters. On weekends, direct services from Liberec to Varnsdorf and to Dresden alternate regularly.

The timetable presented here is subject to further adjustments. In early June 2025, after the deadline for the current draft, the Polish side officially confirmed the upgrade of its track between Hrádek nad Nisou and Žitava, including an increase in speed (from 40 km/h to 100 km/h). This, together with modifications on Czech territory, will allow for more regular service on the line and expanded service at certain stops, thanks to the time savings.

Trial operations will take place on the line for several months to test accuracy; during this period, among other things, waiting times for L7 and RE2 trains due to delayed connections will be significantly reduced.

These changes have been planned and requested by all four contracting authorities for both cross-border lines for more than fifteen years. Thanks to cooperation with the track operators, they can finally be implemented this year. At the modernized stations in Hrádek nad Nisou and Chrastava, trains will primarily use new side platforms accessible directly from the street and from buses. As a result, most passengers will no longer have to enter the tracks via an underpass, which will shorten the walk to the train.

On Line 036 (Route L1 Liberec – Tanvald – Harrachov – Szklarska Poręba) , following an agreement between the Liberec Region and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the number of services or the number of operating days per yearwill be slightly increased on the cross-border section.

Comments on the proposed 2025/2026 timetables for the Liberec Region may be submitted until July 11, 2025. Passengers may submit their comments and suggestions via email to info@korid.cz or in writing to the following address: KORID LK, spol. s r.o., U Jezu 642/2a, 460 01 Liberec 4.

In your suggestions and comments, please include:

  • the route (line/track and train number, or time and direction of travel)
  • the purpose for which you use the service
  • if the proposed schedule does not suit you, please specify the desired arrival/departure time
  • if applicable, the number of passengers affected by the change you are requesting

We believe that all these changes will lead to a more reliable and faster rail service across the region. We look forward to seeing you aboard one of our trains.
