Proposed Train Schedule for Line 089 (L7: Liberec – Hrádek nad Nisou – Zittau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf and RE2: Liberec – Dresden)

8. 7. 2025

Dear Passengers.

Attached, we present a draft train schedule for rail service on Line 089 (L7 Liberec – Hrádek nad Nisou – Zittau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf and RE2 Liberec – Dresden), which is scheduled to be implemented after the completion of all modernization work between Liberec and Zittau. Information regarding the date of resumption of train service and the implementation of the new schedule will be published in advance, taking into account the actual completion date of all work on the line.

The journey between Liberec and Varnsdorf will be approximately ten minutes faster (a 15% reduction in travel time). Passengers will be able to transfer between trains not only in Liberec but also, for the first time, every full hour in Zittau. This will significantly expand travel options. There will thus be hourly train connections from Liberec to Dresden, Görlitz, and Berlin, respectively, with travel times approaching those of driving. At the modernized stations in Hrádek nad Nisou and Chrastava, trains will primarily use new side platforms accessible directly from the street and from buses. As a result, most passengers will no longer have to enter the tracks via an underpass, which will shorten the time it takes to board the train.

Trial operations will take place on the line for several months to test punctuality; during this period, among other things, waiting times for L7 and RE2 trains due to delayed connections will be significantly reduced.

The public may submit comments on the proposed timetable for Line 089 until July 28, 2025. Passengers may submit their comments and suggestions via email to info@korid.cz or in writing to the following address: KORID LK, spol. s r.o., U Jezu 642/2a, 460 01 Liberec 4.

In your suggestions and comments, please include:

  • the route (line/track and train number, or time and direction of travel)
  • the purpose for which you use the service
  • if the proposed schedule does not suit you, please specify the desired arrival/departure time
  • if applicable, the number of passengers affected by the change you are requesting

We believe that all these changes will lead to a more reliable and faster rail service across the region. We look forward to seeing you aboard one of our trains.
