Optimization of the Jilemnice Area with New Schedules
25. 11. 2024
Dear Passengers,
Starting December 15, new schedules will take effect, bringing many interesting changes, particularly in the Jilemnice area and, by extension, the eastern part of the Semily district. The goal is to improve connections not only within the region but also to Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou, as well as to the Hradec Králové Region (Vrchlabí). So what do these changes entail? Here is a list of the main changes:
Trains and buses will complement each other
Bus route 941 between Jilemnice and Rokytnice nad Jizerou will run in coordination with trains on Line L9. Connections to and from the train to/from Rokytnice will always be provided. At select times and more frequently, connections will also be available toward Vysoké nad Jizerou and/or to Harrachov.
In addition, most services on Line 941 will be extended from Jilemnice all the way to Vrchlabí. There, connections are provided to IREDO Line 453 to and from Janské Lázně, Svoboda nad Úpou, and Pec pod Sněžkou.
Accessibility to the Jilemnice region and Vrchlabí will improve significantly
Thanks in part to the extension of the route from Rokytnice nad Jizerou to Vrchlabí, services will run on weekdays at 30- to 60-minute intervals in coordination with routes 405 and 963 between Jilemnice and Vrchlabí, which will improve connections to Vrchlabí from most towns in the Jilemnice area (transfers are either in Jilemnice or Hrabačov). Specifically, these include route 946 from Poniklá, Jestřabí in the Krkonoše Mountains, and Křížlice; line 947 from Vítkovice and Horní Mísečky; line 953 from Tanvald, Vysoké nad Jizerou, and Roprachtice; and line 968 from Svojka, Kruh, and Roztoky u Jilemnice.
New weekend connections via Horní Branná will be provided by routes 941 and 963.

Line 960 runs more frequently and throughout the week!
New services have been introduced on the route from Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou to Jilemnice during off-peak hours on weekdays, as well as 6 round trips on weekends. In Jilemnice, connections will be provided to regional routes toward Poniklá and Křížlice (weekdays only), Benecko, Vítkovice, and Horní Mísečky, as well as the long-distance route to Vrchlabí and Špindlerův Mlýn.
Route 405 has also been integrated into the PID
Bus Line 405 from Špindlerův Mlýn via Jičín to Prague, which we modified and integrated in cooperation with the Hradec Králové Region three years ago, will now also be integrated into the Prague Integrated Transport system. In addition, the route will regularly pass through Mladá Boleslav. The route operates at regular 120-minute intervals throughout the week, with some services running at 60-minute intervals during select times.
As part of a pilot program, passengers on this line will be able to use a combination of three fare options.
Connections in Jilemnice
- Route 405 from Prague and Jičín connects in both directions in Jilemnice with the train to Jablonec nad Jizerou and with buses heading toward Horní Mísečky, Benecko, or Poniklá.
- Route 960 connects in Jilemnice with Route 405 (from Liberec and Semily to Vrchlabí and Špindlerův Mlýn) as well as with routes heading toward Horní Mísečky, Benecko, or Poniklá.
- On weekdays, passengers can transfer from the train to Line 963 to Vrchlabí, saving one transfer and shortening travel time.

Changes in the Vysoké nad Jizerou Area
- There are also changes on the Semily–Vysoké nad Jizerou–Rokytnice nad Jizerou route on lines 951, 952, and 954.
- Route 953 between Tanvald, Vysoké nad Jizerou, and Jilemnice (the route will connect in Tanvald with L1 trains, in Vysoké or Sklenařice with trains bound for Semily/Rokytnice, and in Jilemnice with trains bound for Vrchlabí).
- We are increasing service to the ISŠ Vysoké nad Jizerou.
Other changes:
- Service on Route 900 from Rokytnice nad Jizerou to Prague will be increased; during off-peak hours, it will also serve Jablonec nad Jizerou. Additionally, connections between Routes 900 and 941 are provided in Dolní Rokytnice.
- Conversely, Line 955 has been canceled and will be replaced by services on Lines 953 and 963, as well as connections to the train in Tanvald. The morning weekend service on Line 940 to Liberec—and the afternoon return service—will also no longer operate. Connections between the region and the Jablonec and Liberec areas are provided by route 960 or by transfers between routes 900 and 941.
