2nd Krkonoše Steam Weekend – August 11–13, 2023

The Martinice in the Krkonoše Mountains Railway History Society is organizing the 13th annual run of nostalgic steam trains on local tracks for locals and tourists alike.

As a special treat, the historic train set will be pulled by the steam locomotive Velký Bejček 423.094, which will be brought to us from Kněževes by the KHKD company.

A dining car offering light refreshments will be included among the four passenger cars.

The trains will depart from the unique Martinice station in the Krkonoše Mountains, which has been a cultural monument since 2016 due to its appearance and technical equipment. A railway museum is open here, and on Saturday there will be a program at the station for parents and children.

The steam train carries a theater car, in which
theater performances for children in Rovensko pod Tr. and Turnov.
A special fare applies on the train.
Tickets can only be purchased on the train.
Payment is by cash only.
Tickets and discounts from other carriers are not accepted.
Seats on the train are available only while supplies last.

A trip to Tábor. With Kolej-klub, z.s. tourist trains

From Turnov via Libuň to Lomnice nad Popelkou. The area around the Tábor peak is very attractive to tourists and offers many opportunities for hiking or biking trips.

The M152.0604 railcar from 1983 is traditionally used for these trains. In 2023, however, we plan to make the tourist trains even more special by using other vehicles as well. On July 1 and September 2, it will be the M131.1081 railcar from 1948. On July 29, the M240.0056 railcar from 1964 will be in service.
