New IDOL Electronic Check-In System on Liberec Public Transportation

On Wednesday, February 21, the final phase of the IDOL ticketing system upgrade will begin on buses and trams operated by Liberec Public Transportation. The Liberec Public Transportation Company is launching new self-service cashless ticket machines in selected vehicles on a trial basis, allowing passengers to purchase single-ride tickets from Liberec to any zone within the IDOL network. These vehicles will be marked with a prominent sticker reading “New Electronic Ticketing.”
If the trial run goes smoothly, the system will be expanded to all Liberec public transit vehicles starting in March.

You’ll recognize them easily, because unlike the old orange ones, these are green.

• The new system dispenses integrated paper tickets with a QR code, which are valid for transfers on all carriers and routes participating in the IDOL network.
• Payment is cashless only, via credit card or the Opuscard or Opuscard+ electronic wallet.
• Fares are set according to IDOL rules and correspond to the IDOL fare schedule for the lower-cost cashless payment option.
• Each vehicle is equipped with two green ticket machines, located near the second and last doors.

Integrated IDOL tickets are now sold by all transit operators, including all public transit services. Finally, please note that on Liberec public transit, valid tickets have not been validated on board vehicles since September of last year; instead, they are checked by a fare inspector.
