How can I use my existing Opuscard?

There is no need to replace your old Opuscard (the red-and-black portrait-oriented one) right away. The old Opuscard remains a valid carrier for multi-day Časovka and Síťovka passes and also serves as an electronic wallet. Time Tickets and Network Tickets purchased by August 31, 2023 (with the option to select a validity period of up to 60 days in advance) will remain valid until the end of the ticket’s validity period.
However, starting September 1, it will no longer be possible to purchase a new time-based pass on it .
Until the old Opuscard expires—even after September 1—you’ll still be able to use the e-wallet feature to purchase individual paper tickets at a discount.
Let’s summarize:
August 31, 2023 – Until this date , I can purchase time-based passes and network passes on the old Opuscard. I can use the old Opuscard until the end of the validity period of the purchased pass
September 1, 2023 – From this date onward, I will not be able to purchase new time-based passes on the old Opuscard. However, I can continue to use it as an electronic wallet until the card’s expiration date (top-ups are available from the driver and at service locations).
Therefore, it is not necessary to replace the old Opuscard immediately; you should do so only when one of the situations described above applies.
