Experience a touch of nostalgia on historic trains and buses
The Liberec Region offers several opportunities to visit transportation-themed museums. But it’s not just about static exhibits—on select dates, you can also take a ride on a historic train, tram, or bus.
Thanks to support from the Liberec Region, you can use valid EURO-NISA-Ticket+ tickets or network-wide tickets from the Idolka mobile app on many of these services. You can also get a fare discount by presenting your Opuscard.
The Zubačka Rack Railway
For 2023, the Tanvald Railway Company (Železniční společnost Tanvald o.p.s.) is planning rides on the Zubačka historic trains, accompanied by a rich program of events.
Special trains will be pulled by unique diesel cogwheel locomotives nicknamed “Rakušanka,” a set of historic passenger cars from the 1960s, and the historic “Singrovka” railcar. The trains will be accompanied by conductors in historical uniforms.
(%) The EURO-NISA-Ticket+ is accepted on these trains, the 24-hour Síťovka 18+ pass, or a group ticket for 5 people via the Idolka mobile app (except on steam trains to Poland), or a 50% discount upon presentation of an Opuscar or Opuscard+ personal card.
Rail Club
Take a steam train through the Bohemian Paradise, go on a day trip to Tábor by railcar, or visit the exhibition at the Turnov depot. The organizers of Turnov’s historical societies have prepared a rich program full of experiences for you this summer.
Every Saturday during summer break, you can ride a steam train or motor train on two different routes. In addition, steam train weekend events are also planned.
