Emergency - Service Restrictions on the RE2 and L7 Lines in Germany - Update

Due to the theft of communication cables between Ebersbach (Sachs) and Zittau, the signaling system is out of service on the German section of the railroad tracks.
All train service between Zittau–Ebersbach (Saxony) and Zittau–Varnsdorf has been suspended. This disruption also affects parts of the RE2 Liberec–Zittau–Dresden and L7 Liberec–Zittau–Varnsdorf–Seifhennersdorf lines, as well as the RB61 Zittau–Dresden line.
Service has been gradually resuming since October 16.
We are monitoring the overview of transportation measures as closely as possible and will provide ongoing updates.
Service Update, October 16, 2024:
- Trains on the L7 line (Liberec – Hrádek n.N. – Zittau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf) are running according to the timetable along the entire route.
- For connections to Dresden, passengers must take the NAD from Zittau toward Ebersbach according to the temporary schedule available here, and then continue by train.
We recommend that all passengers traveling through the section affected by this disruption check with the carrier for the latest status.
