Advent Markets 2025 in the IDOL region, from the Liberec Region to the Trojmezí area, with ENT+!

We’ve put together some recommendations for long-running, multi-day Advent markets. The magical holiday atmosphere begins with the first weekend of Advent. Take advantage of our IDOL network and travel throughout the Liberec Region—or even across the border with the EURO NISA Ticket+.

Advent in the Liberec Region or Mladá Boleslav

Liberec

  • Traditional markets on Dr. E. Beneš Square: Running from November 26 to December 23
  • Transportation: Liberec is the central hub and transportation crossroads of the entire IDOL network. It is connected to all parts of the Liberec Region by a dense network of bus, train, and tram lines.

Jablonec nad Nisou

  • Main markets: Open from December 17 to December 21
  • Route 141: Liberec, Bus Station – Jablonec nad Nisou, Bus Station
  • Tram Line 11: Liberec, Fügnerova – Jablonec nad Nisou, Tyršovy sady
  • Integrated long-distance route to the capital (Route 190): Jablonec nad Nisou – Liberec – Prague
  • Connection eastward to the Jilemnice and Pojizeří regions (Route 952): Jablonec nad Nisou – Vysoké nad J. – Semily / Rokytnice nad J.

Česká Lípa

Here, the main Advent markets take place on T. G. Masaryk Square, where a Christmas market, fairy tales, and concerts are held from December 1 through 23.

  • Train lines to Česká Lípa:
    • R14: Service on the Liberec – Česká Lípa – Ústí nad Labem route
    • L2: Liberec – Česká Lípa – Děčín
    • L4: Mladá Boleslav – Česká Lípa – Rumburk
  • Bus routes to Česká Lípa:
    • Route 240: Česká Lípa – Nový Bor – Cvikov – Jablonné v Podještědí – Liberec
    • Route 440: Kamenický Šenov – Nový Bor – Cvikov – Jablonné v Podještědí – Liberec
    • Route 260: Česká Lípa – Zákupy – Mimoň – Stráž pod Ralskem – Hamr na Jezeře
    • Route 474: Nový Bor – Sloup v Čechách – Zákupy – Mimoň
    • Route 450: Nový Bor – Česká Lípa – Doksy – Mladá Boleslav
    • Route 451: Česká Lípa – Pihel – Nový Bor
    • Route 452: Česká Lípa – Sloup v Čechách – Nový Bor
  • Transfer Hub: Česká Lípa serves as a transfer hub, from which you can easily reach Zákupy.

Zákupy Castle

  • A long-lasting Christmas atmosphere at the castle: Experience it from November 29 to December 23.
  • Bus routes:
    • 260: Česká Lípa – Zákupy – Mimoň – Hamr na Jezeře
    • 262: Česká Lípa – Zákupy – Velenice – Brniště
    • 269: Mimoň – Brenná – Božíkov – Zákupy
    • 459: Nový Bor – Česká Lípa – Nové Zákupy – Brniště
    • 474: Nový Bor – Sloup v Čechách – Svojkov – Zákupy – Mimoň

Mladá Boleslav

  • Christmas markets at City Hall: Held on Old Town Square, running from November 29 to December 24.
  • Integration: The city lies at the border of two regions and is part of both the PID (Prague Integrated Transport) and IDOL (Liberec Region Integrated Transport) systems.
  • Train connections (Line R21): Liberec – Turnov – Mladá Boleslav – Prague
  • Bus routes:
    • Route 700 (IDOL Long-Distance): Harrachov – Tanvald – Turnov – Mladá Boleslav – Prague
    • Route 450 (Regional): Nový Bor – Česká Lípa – Doksy – Mladá Boleslav

Weekend Specials

  • Turnov: Regional markets will be held Dec. 12–13. Accessible via train lines R21, R22, L03, and the extensive IDOL bus network.
  • Zákupy (Castle): The weekend special runs from December 12–14. We recommend IDOL lines 670 or L4. When traveling from Liberec, expect a transfer in Česká Lípa.

Advent in Germany

⚠️ IMPORTANT TRANSPORTATION NOTICE: Service suspension on the Liberec–Zittau route.

  • The ongoing suspension of train service by the German carrier trilex (Länderbahn) on the Liberec–Žitava (Zittau) section will last until December 13, 2025.
  • Trilex trains on lines L7 and RE2 are being replaced by substitute bus service (NAD) along the entire Liberec–Žitava route.
  • Practical impact: Expect longer travel times. IDOL and EURO NISA Ticket+ are valid on the replacement bus service.
  • Tip: The Christmas Kometa to Dresden runs via replacement buses from Liberec on November 29, December 6, and December 13—check the special timetable! Information on the special timetable is available here.

Dresden

  • The world-famous Striezelmarkt: Runs from November 26 to December 24.
  • Accessibility: RE/NAD connections with the EURO NISA Ticket+.

Bautzen

  • Romantic Markets in Upper Lusatia: Visit from November 28 to December 22.
  • Accessibility: With the EURO NISA Ticket + and trilex/NAD lines L7 and RE2.

Görlitz

  • Markets with a charming Silesian flair: They take place here from November 28 to December 14.
  • Accessibility: With the EURO NISA Ticket + and trilex/NAD Line L7 connections.

Weekend Specials

  • Bad Muskau: The weekend market takes place November 29–30. Accessible with the EURO NISA Ticket +. The route goes via Zittau/Görlitz on the trilex L7/RE2 NAD, then by regional train (e.g., RB 65) to Weißwasser, and finally by PlusBus 80 directly to Bad Muskau.
  • Bischofswerda: St. Nicholas Weekend takes place here from December 5 to December 7. Accessible with the EURO NISA Ticket + and trilex/NAD connections on the RE2 line.

Advent in Poland

Weekend Specials

  • Jelenia Góra: Experience Polish Advent from December 12–14. Available with the EURO NISA Ticket +, primarily via the train line from Harrachov through Szklarska Poręba operated by Koleje Dolnośląskie or via train connections from Görlitz/Zgorzelec.
  • Zgorzelec: The markets on the Polish side run from December 12–14. Accessible with the EURO NISA Ticket+. The fastest way is by train/NAD Trilex L7 to Görlitz and then on foot across the border bridge to the center of Zgorzelec.

EURO NISA Ticket + Prices

  • The EURO NISA Ticket + is an all-day network ticket valid for trains, buses, and trams throughout the Liberec Region (IDOL) and in most border areas of Germany (ZVON) and Poland (KŚ/KD).
