In the Liberec Region, the most extensive changes to the 2025 train schedules will be on Line 034 (Smržovka–Josefův Důl), with minor adjustments also on Line 089 (Liberec – Seifhennersdorf. On lines V41 Kolín – Stará Paka – Trutnov and V51 Chlumec nad Cidlinou – Stará Paka – Lomnice nad Popelkou, České dráhy will gradually introduce new low-floor, air-conditioned RegioFox cars from the Polish manufacturer PESA. The previously announced extension of selected services from Černous to the Polish station of Zawidów is still in the works; due to administrative reasons on the Polish side, the planned start date for service has been postponed for now to spring 2025.
On the L12 line between Smržovka – Josefův Důl (Line 034), based on feedback received, service is scheduled to run at regular intervals throughout the day and week, with departures from Smržovka always at the 12-minute mark and from Josefův Důl at the 26-minute mark. On weekdays, this service will be further expanded by three pairs of additional trains, which will shorten the interval between connections to half an hour in the morning and early afternoon to improve commuting for shift workers and students traveling to and from Jablonec nad Nisou and Tanvald. As a result, every train in Smržovka will now connect seamlessly and without exception to services bound for Jablonec nad Nisou and Liberec. During times when there is no half-hourly service on the main line between Liberec – Tanvald (i.e., after the end of the morning and afternoon rush hours on weekdays and all day on weekends), transfer times between trains for the Josefův Důl – Tanvald route may, conversely, be extended at Smržovka. For this reason, service on bus line 744 between Tanvald, Albrechtice v Jizerských horách, Jiřetín pod Bukovou, and Josefův Důl will be expanded according to the attached proposal. The introduction of these new bus services will also fill a gap in service in the village of Albrechtice v Jizerských horách.
Proposed schedule for Route 744 here.
On Line L7 Liberec – Hrádek nad Nisou – Zittau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf and RE2 Liberec – Dresden (Line 089), the proposed changes aim to reduce train delays caused by the poor condition of the track and the complete exhaustion of its current capacity. School train 20945 will operate under the new number 20905 with adjusted earlier departure times from Zittau at 6:36 a.m., from Hrádek nad Nisou at 6:59 a.m., and arriving in Liberec as early as 7:24 a.m. On the Hrádek nad Nisou–Liberec section, this train will consist of two railcars with a total seating capacity of 240 seats. On weekdays, one pair of trains between Hrádek nad Nisou and Žitava around 2:00 p.m. will be canceled. To make the schedule more regular, the departures of the midday trains from Liberec will be moved up by half an hour on weekdays — instead of the current trains at 11:06 and 12:02, the new departures from Liberec will be at 11:32 and 12:28. For other trains on Line 089, there may be minor schedule adjustments of up to 10 minutes.
We would like to inform passengers that during the 2025 construction season, an above-average number of service suspensions is expected due to modernization work, particularly on the sections Turnov – Železný Brod – Tanvald, Jablonecké Paseky – Tanvald – Harrachov, Liberec – Zittau, and in the Frýdlant region. Details regarding specific restrictions will be announced in advance. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding as we implement these long-awaited and necessary improvements to the rail lines.
