To Hell for the Beautiful Nature
Plan your visit to Pekelské Valley now—in early spring, snowdrops begin to bloom throughout the area. The Peklo National Natural Monument is an area of rock faces and a stream floodplain in the Robečský Creek valley, stretching 4 km below the former mill in the village of Karba. What can you visit or see in this area?
The white carpets of spring snowflakes are the main attraction. The trail through the valley runs mostly along wooden boardwalks right among the blooming flowers.
The railway viaduct from 1898 is a unique engineering monument that you’ll pass under right at the start of the trail in Zahrádky. The village of Karba, with its folk architecture and former mill, offers a view of log cabins picturesquely nestled among the sandstone cliffs.
How to get to Peklo?
MAD Line 203 will take you from near the bus and train terminal in Česká Lípa to the Dubice stop in just a few minutes, right at the gates of the Peklo rock valley.

From the Dubice stop, simply cross the footbridge over the Robečský Stream and follow the red hiking trail.

By train:
Take the U11 line (Lovosice –) Litoměřice Upper Station – Česká Lípa and get off at the Zahrádky u České Lípy stop.
From the train stop, head toward Zahrádky Castle. At the castle, follow the red hiking trail. It will lead you down to the picturesque village of Karba, and just past Karba, you’ll find the first boardwalks and the valley itself, full of snowdrops.
Line U11 (Postoloprty – Lovosice –Litoměřice Upper Station –Česká Lípa)
Bus routes will take you to Česká Lípa, and some even go as far as Zahrádky.
Route 240 (Česká Lípa – Nový Bor – Cvikov – Jablonné v Podještědí – Liberec)
Route 250 Česká Lípa – Doksy – Bezděz – Bělá pod Bezdězem
runs through Zahrádky on weekdays.
Route 251 (Česká Lípa – Zahrádky / Provodín – Jestřebí – Dubá)
runs through Zahrádky on weekdays.
Route 260 Česká Lípa – Zákupy – Mimoň – Stráž pod Ralskem – Hamr na Jezeře
Route 281 (Dubá – Dřevčice – Holany – Česká Lípa) runs through Zahrádky on weekdays.
Route 292 (Česká Lípa – Kozly – Stvolínky – Kravaře – Blíževedly – Skalka)
Route 400 (Cvikov / Rumburk – Varnsdorf – Nový Bor – Česká Lípa – Mělník – Prague)
