Jablonné v Podještědí

One of the oldest towns in northern Bohemia, first mentioned in historical documents dating back to 1249. Here you’ll find a large number of historically significant buildings as well as many restored log cabins. Jablonné is a great starting point for trips to the Lusatian Mountains.

What can you visit or see in the area?

• The Minor Basilica of St. Lawrence and St. Zdislava, completed and consecrated in 1729, is the town’s landmark. It is part of a Dominican monastery that is, however, nearly 500 years older.
• The observation tower of the former parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which was later converted into a brewery (unfortunately, beer is no longer brewed there today).
• The hunting lodge of the Pacht family of Rájov. This cultural monument, owned by the town, is now occasionally used for social events and exhibitions.
• Follow the green hiking trail from Náměstí Míru toward nearby Lvová; you’ll pass Markvartický Pond and the Bredov Summer Palace on your way to Lemberk Castle.
• Follow the red trail toward the Lužické Mountains, passing the Ukrainian military cemetery from World War I and a monument dating from 1921.
