For the views of Kozákov
In winter, the summit of the Ještěd-Kozákov Ridge offers magnificent views of the snow-covered Bohemian Paradise, Trosky, and the Krkonoše Mountains. It is an ideal starting point for winter hiking in the region.
What can you visit or see in this area?
- Observation Tower: The tower is closed to the public during the winter months (December–March); regular operations resume in April.

Route from Loktuše: Follow the yellow hiking trail from the Mírová pod Kozákovem stop in Loktuše to Špice (2.7 km).

Route from Semily: For more experienced hikers, the trail leads from the train station along the yellow and red hiking trails (6.1 km).
TIP for getting to Kozákov via IDOL bus lines:

Rail lines: Lines L3 (Liberec – Jaroměř) and R14A (Liberec – Pardubice Main Station) to the Semily station

Bus line 550 Liberec – Lomnice nad Popelkou. - Get off at the Loktuše, na Špici stop, from where a roughly 2.7 km climb to the summit awaits you.
Bus 861 Semily–Záhoří–Železný Brod – In winter, take bus 861 to the Záhoří or Záhoří, Pipice stop, from where you’ll have a roughly 4-kilometer uphill hike to Riegrová Chata. -
