Polana Jakuszycka Sports Center in Lower Silesia: Straight from the train to the slopes

Did you know that the Polana Jakuszycka train station on Poland’s highest-altitude railway line has undergone a major change? In 2022, it was moved 600 meters closer to the Czech border. As a result, trains on Line L1 (Liberec – Harrachov – Szklarska Poręba Górna) now stop right next to the modern Lower Silesian Sports Center in Jakuszyce.

You’ll step off the train practically right into the complex. This means you don’t have to worry about complicated transfers—everything is right at your fingertips:

  • Reception and locker rooms: You can rent a locker to store your personal belongings and clothing.
  • Rental: If you don’t have your own cross-country skis, you can easily rent them here.
  • Dining: On the first floor, you’ll find a restaurant with a beautiful view of the sports complex.

From the first floor of the center, you’ll walk through an outdoor area straight onto the groomed trail. It’s the ideal starting point for cross-country skiers and hikers alike.

The Krkonoše Main Trail and Hundreds of Kilometers of Trails

Jakuszyce is also a great starting point for exploring the Czech side of the mountains. From here, you can easily cross-country ski to Harrachov and connect to our main network.

In the Krkonoše Mountains and their foothills, more than 560 km of cross-country trailsare machine-groomed when snow conditions are good . You can plan a full-day trip or simply train on the race circuit.

  • Main Trail:The 71-km-longKrkonoše Main Trail runs through the entire mountain range, from Žacléř to Harrachov .
  • Connecting Trails: The main trail is connected to an additional 340 km of local cross-country trails, 89 km of race trails, and 100 km of trails in the foothills.
