The Highest Peak of Bohemian Paradise Within Reach
Take a trip to Kozákov, the dominant feature of the Ještěd-Kozákov Ridge. Thanks to its location, it offers magnificent views of the Bohemian Paradise, Trosky, and the peaks of the Krkonoše Mountains. Kozákov is also a well-known site for semi-precious stones—with a little luck, you might come across an amethyst, agate, or jasper.

- Observation Tower: During the summer season, climb up to the observation deck and enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view.
- Riegrova Chata: A place to rest and grab a bite to eat (open year-round except Mondays).
How to get there with IDOL
You have several options for planning your trip:
- By bus all the way to the summit (Weekend tip) On weekends and holidays, some buses on Line 861 (Semily – Železný Brod) go all the way to the Chuchelna, Kozákov chata stop .
- Note: These services operate on a “call-a-bus” basis . Be sure to book your ride in advance. How does the “call-a-bus” service work?
- Take the bus down the hill and walk
- Mírová pod Kozákovem, Loktuše, and Špice stops:
- Route 550 Liberec – Lomnice nad Popelkou
- Line 730 Vítkovice – Prague
- Hiking route: Follow the yellow trail to the summit (2.7 km). Route map
- Záhoří bus stop:
- Route 861 Semily – Železný Brod
- Hiking route: Follow the green and red trail markers (3.1 km). Route map
- By Train and on Foot from Semily (For Tourists) You can easily reach Semily via train lines L3 (Liberec – Jaroměř) or R14A.
- Hiking route: From Semily, follow the yellow and then the red hiking trails (6.1 km). Route map
