Starting in May, the Hrádek area will become another region covered by on-demand transportation

The on-demand transportation service known as TvůjBus will expand to cover additional areas in the Liberec Region. Starting May 4, it will serve the areas of Hrádek nad Nisou and Chotyně. ČSAD Liberec will provide the service on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During the summer holidays, the service will also operate on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“It is precisely in smaller towns, such as those in the Hrádek area, that on-demand transportation is most beneficial. It allows people to travel according to their actual needs, which is why we are gradually expanding it to this area as well,” says Daniel David, deputy governor in charge of the transportation department.

In the Hrádek nad Nisou and Chotyně area, the TvůjBus service will supplement existing regular bus routes during the pilot phase. Based on an evaluation of the pilot operation, it is expected that in the future, underutilized routes will be replaced, particularly those heading toward Oldřichov na Hranicích (Route 73), Dolní Suchá (Route 74), and Dolní and Horní Sedlo (Route 76). At the same time, TvůjBus will improve access to Loučná, where only mini- and midibuses can currently operate, and on-demand service will also be provided to the Kristýna campground and swimming pool. Residents of Chotyně and Grabštejn will also benefit from this service. The transportation coordinator estimates operating costs at approximately 1.8 mil. Kč. “Unlike in previous areas, we expect demand from various parts of Hrádek and Chotyně, so to optimize the service, we first need to assess the transportation demand,” explains Otto Pospíšil, managing director of KORID LK. “In addition, road closures are expected in the area, which would make it impossible to operate regular bus routes. A small vehicle will be a great help to us in organizing transportation,” adds Pospíšil.

As usual, passengers can book a ride via the TvůjBus IDOL mobile app or by calling the IDOL Central Dispatch Center at the dedicated on-demand transportation hotline: 705 525 999. The carrier will deploy a Ford Tourneo Custom vehicle designed for 7 passengers. The route will be designated as line 78, and the service will be fully integrated into the IDOL system.
