On-Demand Transportation Service Launches in the Železný Brod Region

7. 4. 2026

Today, Tuesday, April 7, the on-demand transit service TvůjBus is launching in another area of the Liberec Region, specifically in the Železnobrodsko area. BusLine LK will operate the service, which will run every weekday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

“Our shared goal is to improve and streamline public transportation in the Železnobrodsko area. On-demand transportation has already proven successful between Nové Město and Jindřichovice pod Smrkem, where it has demonstrated its ability to effectively supplement regular public transportation. That is one of the reasons we are now expanding it to other parts of the region,” says Daniel David, deputy governor in charge of the transportation department.

TvůjBus will largely replace the very underutilized Route 854 connecting Železný Brod with Horská Kamenice and the local districts of Koberov–Vrát and Prosíčka. During school rush hour, the vehicle will run according to the schedule; at other times of the day, it will operate as an on-demand service that passengers can book via the TvůjBus IDOL mobile app, or by phone at the IDOL Central Dispatch Center, which is setting up a new phone line for booking on-demand service: 705 525 999. The carrier will deploy a Ford Tourneo Custom vehicle designed for 7 passengers. The route will continue to be designated as line 854, and the service is fully integrated into IDOL.

CITYA mobility is collaborating on the implementation of on-demand transportation in the Liberec Region, providing the control software and the TvůjBus IDOL app. “We are pleased to be able to help the Liberec Region develop this modern form of transportation. Moreover, the region is actively introducing innovations that push us forward as well,” says Dominik Janík, CEO of CITYA mobility, adding: “We will continuously monitor the service’s operation and, based on real-time data, further adjust it so that the service best meets the needs of the residents of the Železnobrod area. The goal is transportation that truly adapts to people, not the other way around.”

The transportation coordinator estimates operating costs at approximately 1.5 mil. Kč. According to KORID LK, these costs are comparable to those of traditional public transportation, but with greater efficiency. “We’ve replaced the bus with an on-demand vehicle, and during off-peak hours, the driver can be used to cover transportation needs even on routes that conventional buses cannot reach,” explains Otto Pospíšil, managing director of KORID LK. It will now be possible to provide public transportation even to locations where conventional buses cannot operate.

“We welcome the fact that public transportation will also be available in the local districts of Chloudov and Chlístov,” agree František Lufinka, mayor of Železný Brod, and Pavel Pospíšil, mayor of Koberovy.
