Inter-regional routes begin service

On Sunday, December 12, 2021, the first inter-regional services will begin operating between the Liberec and Central Bohemia regions and Prague, with connecting services via the IDOL integrated transit systems.
These overlaps will simplify short-distance travel across regional borders. Passengers can choose which IDS fare to use for their trip—the PID fare or the IDOL fare.
An overlap zone has now been introduced on inter-regional routes, meaning that the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) fare does not end at the borders of the Central Bohemian Region, but remains valid into the Liberec Region, for example, to Turnov or Paceřice. Conversely, the Liberec Region Integrated Transport System (IDOL) fare is also valid in the Central Bohemian Region, extending to Mladá Boleslav.
Passengers can also expect some changes when traveling between the Liberec and Central Bohemia Regions. Through a collaboration between the Liberec Region and the bus operators BusLine LK and Enjoy Europe—which will also be integrated into the IDOL system starting December 12—a fast connection will be provided between Jablonec nad Nisou and Prague via routes 190, 900, and 905. Route 900 will connect with the R21 express trains in Tanvald.

Stops in the overlapping area within the Liberec Region (as far as you can travel using the PID fare) – Svijany, Turnov, Paceřice, Příšovice, Přepeře, Modřišice
Stops in the overlapping area within the Central Bohemian Region (as far as you can travel on the IDOL fare) – Mladá Boleslav, Kosmonosy, Bakov nad Jizerou, Mnichovo Hradiště, Březina, Loukov
Contractual Terms and Conditions of Carriage (SPP)
The PID SPP applies within the Central Bohemian Region, up to the stop specified in the SPP.
The IDOL SPP applies within the Liberec Region, up to the stop specified in the SPP.
Free transportation under the PID Fare (70+, ZTP, and ZTP/P) is provided only within the territory of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region, in accordance with the territorial scope of the PID SPP.
Here are the answers to frequently asked questions
I am traveling from the Liberec Region to the Central Bohemian Region through an overlapping area, or vice versa (e.g., Liberec – Prague, Černý Most). What tickets should I use?
On this route, both IDOL and PID tickets are required, to be used in the order corresponding to the direction of travel. If you’re traveling from Liberec, purchase an IDOL ticket to the last station in the overlapping area, followed by a PID ticket. If you already have a valid ticket (such as a pass) in the destination IDS from a specific fare point, you can tell the driver where or from where the individual ticket is valid.
Are IDOL tickets transferable just like PID tickets?
It depends on which ticket you use. For example, when traveling from Mladá Boleslav to Liberec, a paper ticket is valid only on the specified route. IDOL transfer tickets are loaded onto the Opuscard chip card (www.opuscard.cz). In addition to the destination zone, the ticket is also valid for a specific period of time, and in Liberec, you can use it, for example, to transfer to public transit.
Can I use a time-based fare in overlapping areas?
Yes, for overlapping routes, you can use the PID or IDOL time-based fare. However, the condition of traveling across regional borders must be met. If the above condition is not met, the fare of the region in which you are traveling applies.
Can I use the PID Lítačka here?
Yes, within the area where the PID Tariff is valid: www.pidlitacka.cz. However, it cannot be used for trips within the Liberec Region.
Which fare will be applied to my luggage exceeding the allowed allowance?
Luggage is charged a one-time fee based on the fare zone from which you depart. However, this applies only to that specific connection and is not transferable to the neighboring IDS.
How much will the trip cost me? Example: Mladá Boleslav – Turnov
It depends on the number of fare zones traveled through (listed in the timetables) and also on the travel time. For example, when traveling from Mladá Boleslav to Turnov, you’ll pay 50 Kč for a full-price fare and 12 Kč for a discounted fare. Mladá Boleslav is in PID fare zone 7, and Turnov is in PID fare zone 11. Therefore, for a trip on the PID network, I need a 5-zone ticket, which is valid for 2 hours.
Will the overlapping service area be expanded?
Yes, over the course of next year, we plan to expand the overlapping area, for example, toward Český Dub or Mimoň.
